That’s why, even though there was a depression and things probably weren’t that great, the main character of the album remembers peacetime as technicolor to the war’s black and white. However, I think the main thrust of the song is the feeling of pre-war Britain, as it is remembered years later. It is, as many have said, a piece about birth, about discovering the beauty of all the world’s colors, etc. Life in Technicolor: In some ways, the most straightforward song on the album. I view this as a concept album that tells the story of a man who fought in World War II, examining his love, loss, and hope for the future in 45 mins. Viva La Vida being my favorite album ever, I thought I'd share my interpretation of it with r/Coldplay.
